The “Natural Order of Things” is a blog by Rita Dantas on communication, public relations, the media and other topics mostly related to work which would most likely bore the audience of her long existing blog, the Portuguese Boas Intenções.

After a short but pleasurable journalism excursion and a passionate yet deeply frustrating experience in politics she somewhat haphazardly ended up in Berlin, working in public relations and communication for a German publishing house. Having started as an international conference organiser, responsible among others for the European Communication Summit, she has now taken over the role of the company’s social-media-lady (pompous titles and full resume available on request). She has a first degree in Communication Science and a Masters degree in European Politics and has studied in Lisbon, Prague, Bath and Berlin.

As nerd categories go, she is to be placed in the Russian classics drawer rather than in the techy closet and is more than willing to explain her lack of excitement for several of the world’s most revolutionary gadgets by detailing how their value would translate if invested in books, shoes, wine and vintage lamps instead. She compensates for this apparent lack of credentials with an eager curiosity, a fearless addiction to new challenges, a genuine desire to communicate and an innate capacity to think outside of the box, reputably acquired through never having been supplied with the box in the first place.

English is one of her main working languages, but not her native idiom and readers will be confronted with her limitations often. While she strives to improve, readers of this blog commit not to judge her writing abilities by her treatment of the English language and are not to question her plans of retiring to a career as a fiction writer in her native Minho.
